Outreach preventive and diagnostics pilot programme

The programme is being implemented in five pilot regions. The programme is implemented with five mobile consulting and diagnostics rooms and two mobile flourographs. The equipment is managed by medical teams duly provided by the MoH. The ministry provides the financing for the team’s salary, consumables and vaccinations. The purpose of the programme is to examine and immunize as many as possible vulnerable ethnic minorities (especially Roma) patients in the course of approximately 14 months. The coordination of the programme implementation is carried out through 5 coordination teams. These teams include two persons – the coordinator and another person, representative of the relevant Regional Inspectorate for Public Health Protection and Control. The coordinators should establish cooperative relationship with the Regional Inspectorates for Public Health Protection and Control which are responsible for the implementation of the programme on behalf of the MoH as well as with the medical teams. The role of this second person is to facilitate the communication with the Ministry of Health. This second person is appointed by the Director of the Regional Inspectorate for Public Health Protection and Control and works closely with the Roma coordinator. The task of the coordination teams is to ensure smooth implementation of the programme and maintenance of Registers with the patients’ details as well as follow-up of subsequent interventions prescribed. The plan for the implementation of the programme was elaborated in the beginning of the activity and was discussed with the MoH, the coordinators and the medical teams.
